ADELAIDE: India loses to England in the semifinal match of the ongoing world cup tournament to wash out of the tournament
The second semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 was played on November 10 in the Adelaide between India and England. Batting first, the Indian team managed to score a total of 168 with the loss of 6 wickets at the end of the stipulated twenty overs. England managed to reach that score in only 16 overs without the loss of even a single wicket.
Only Hardik Pandiyan and ex-captain of the national team, Virat Kohli managed to make any impact in the match. While Pandiya hit 63 runs in 33 balls, Kohli managed a half-century in 40 balls. None of the Indian bowlers were able to make any impact whatsoever as both the English batsmen continued to hit till the very end.
Cris Jordan proved to be the star bowler of the match when he claimed 3 Indian wickets in his four overs. He also conceded a total of 43 runs in his spells. Chris Woakes and Adil Rashid claimed one wicket each. The openers for the English team Jos Buttler and Alex Hales managed to score the runs by themselves. The wicketkeeper captain scored 80 runs out of his 49 balls and Alex Hales scored 86 out of the 47 balls that he faced.
The results of this match put an end to the Indian team's campaign in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022. This loss has hurt millions of cricket lovers across the world who were eagerly waiting for another high-voltage match between traditional rivals India and Pakistan as the final of this tournament.
However, the results also prove Pakistani pacer Sohaib Akhtar's prediction that India will lose miserably against England.
England and Pakistan will now compete for the trophy in the historic Melbourne Cricket Ground on the coming Sunday.
